Have you ever thought of yourself as a king or lord? Do you ever dream of taking control of the entire universe? GeoEmpires is the game for all the dreamers and king want-a-be’s. This can be done virtually, of course, inside the new game called GeoEmpires. GeoEmpires is an application for the iPhone, iPod or iPad running iOS firmware 4.3 or later. It is considered primarily an iPhone/iPod application but can be played on the larger iPad size screen with no problems.
GeoEmpires offers gameplay with friends in close proximity where you are playing in real time. Compete with neighbors and friends to gain top rankings inside the GeoEmpires game to become a knight and lords. The user can use Facebook or Google accounts to log in without waiting or creating a new account. The game displays the username and avatar on their profile. It has a very clean lay out with categories across the bottom of screen which shows maps, medals, stats, stream, and profile. However, this is a game which requires playing over wi-fi or data plan since the game is played based on their current location. The user competes for land so they can build their own kingdom’s to rule and charge others for entering.
The game is fairly simple to figure out once you get going. However, I do recommend playing with friends you know, at least until you learn what you are doing. This will keep all the bad internet remarks to a minimum. We all know how others online like to say negative things about everything and anything. Anyway, by playing with friends you can work together to figure it out. This makes playing more exciting to learn from the beginning with others anyway.
On the other hand, this probably isn’t a game for young audiences due to the level of the learning curve. It’s not a very steep curve but does require some time to understand and figure out. Were the younger audiences expect and prefer everything right under their noses. Personally, I prefer games such as GeoEmpires which requires a bit of learning. This gives it a little mystery for learning and adds to the excitement of the gameplay.
